Competition team is for those dancers ready to take their training to the next level. Competition team dancers will attend class 2-3 times a week, study a variety of genres, compete locally, attend critically acclaimed conventions, and attend in-studio master classes.
Below is general information regarding our competition team requirements and expectations. This will be helpful if you are planning to audition for the 2025-2026 team. Much more detailed information will be given at the parent meeting on Monday, July 7th.
All competition team dancers are required to take the following classes:
Technique
Ballet
Jazz
Lyrical
Acro/Flexibility
Improv
Dancers wishing to extend their training and/or are placed on a more advanced company will participate in the following:
Hip Hop
Tap
Additional Ballet
Additional Competition Routine(s)
Your dancer will be required to attend between 5 and 7 competitions, all scheduled between February and May. Competitions typically run Thursday-Saturday.
Your dancer will attend 1 convention/competition scheduled between February and May. These events typically run Thursday-Saturday
Your dancer will participate in 3 showcases throughout the season.
Dancers will be expected to purchase and wear the following attire:
Practice Attire: Dancers will wear all black to all routine rehearsals throughout the week.
Ballet Attire: black ballet leotard of your choice, pink tights and pink ballet shoes (Capezio Hanami).
Travel Attire: 1 travel jacket must be purchased to be worn during awards ce

Stage Attire: team costume, fulfilled hair and make-up requirements, tights (if required for particular costume) and shoes specific to the routine.
